Before we went to work out on Saturday...well before the kids went to the super fun kid zone at the Y and hubby & I worked out.....we stopped off at the Y's sport fields to see our neighbors. Their oldest and good friend of Campbell's was playing T-Ball. Campbell was so excited to go and she made sure she had the right tools to cheer him on!

Travis liked seeing the action and made sure to tell me that when he was just a "little bit bigger" he was going to play t-ball too.

So while we cheered for Keegan. New dreams were formed. Campbell decided for certain she wants to be a cheerleader and Travis is going to play ball.

Our Saturday, it was a nice family day!

Tomorrow is Resurrection Sunday! By all means the best gift we have been given even before we knew it was ours.

This is the first time I have ever seen this.
I must say that I LOVE it!
With all the commercialism of the holiday this really does make a statement.
However, eating a chocolate bunny does seem a bit more appealing than eating the cross.

But in all seriousness, it is kinda cool to see.....what a statement in the chocolate world in my eyes!

Laughing inside but it won't come out...because there really is no reason to laugh.

As if you've been led to the water but can't drink it?

That's how I feel. Disconnected.

I know. I know. Nothing is as bad as it could be.

However right now my "bad" just seems to have me all out of whack.
Disconnected...in a rut of ruts.

Truly, if I was a power cord....I might just have a surge.

Campbell Cares

Campbell was a premature baby but I know several other mommies that have had very very premature babies. Some with not so happy endings. So I decided that Campbell and I would always walk in the March of Dimes walk. This year we will walk in April. Travis might even come too.

Yes, I know they don't do any of the walking at this age but I want them to learn to be involved in the community and to give back.

So the tonsils and adenoids removal for Campbell will be postponed from this Thursday to summer break. Kinda of sighing with relief over here for so many reasons.

1. she wont have the surgery....wasn't really ready for the "going under" and all the stress that goes with that.
2. The bank account was not quite ready for the hit was going to take.
3. She was much happier not to miss two days of school prior to spring break. (She had a MAJOR melt down when she found out she was going to miss two days of school....who's kid is she??? j/k!)

What am I sad about...
1. This means Nana isn't coming today!!!

BUT instead....she'll come in about a week and a half. So that's still cool.

My little guy like cars. No he loves cars. I think the only, scratch that. the ONLY thing he likes better than cars would be trains. Yes he does love trains.

So there was a car show in town...just down the street. It was suppose to happen on Saturday and the whole family was set to go. However, the weather put a damper on the show. The show was postponed til Sunday. Which meant that daddy would have to miss it because his business trip came first.

So after Sunday School we headed home, picked up some kolaches and rolled in to say goodbye to daddy. Than the kids and I headed out to the car show.

This car show was cool. Live bands, pony rides (our kids first), rock walls, jumpy houses, etc. They called it a spring fling and car show. The best part was it was all free minus the eats if you wanted to eat.

There were SO many cars. Knowing that we would not be able two walk the aisle and aisle of cars we cruised two aisles. The kids loved it but one little boy...my little boy LOVED it. I really think his love of cars grew that day.

I kept telling him that Papa would LOVE the show too. So mental note to self is to find out when this really cool show is booked for next spring and get my dad here NO MATTER WHAT!! Did you hear that Papa...NO MATTER WHAT!!! Next year Travis will be able to walk more aisles and you'll love holding his hand and seeing the smiles and excitement on his face.

What a beautiful day. Sissy was a great sport and seemed to know that this was really special for brother bear. The only thing that was missing was daddy. What would have made it perfect would have been if Papa and Nana would have been in town.

My City Slickers in a Rodeo World.

So it's Rodeo time! While we have yet to make it to the real rodeo downtown, we still get to have some rodeo fun at preschool. However, pretty sure my two looked like city slickers in the crowd of hats, boots, Bandana's, etc. But I loved the little cowboy and cowgirl shirts I got them.

Campbell's class had more rodeo activities than the younger peeps ie, her brother.
It was fun to watch her play in the activity centers and see the fun of the day.

The chuck wagon was a hit...especially the drinky drink.

This year we will make it down to the rodeo. We have decided that we are old enough to handle some of the activities. I am so excited to go to the petting zoo and the midway...probably more than my kids at this point...glad we decided that "we're old enough."

This little guy has had a bad month. Almost no school due to a head cold then the flu. Thought we were heading back today but he only lasted a two hours. Well hopefully next week we will start March off strong!!!

Ice Ice baby!

So last week (Friday) we were suppose to get SNOW! That's a big deal around here.

We were very careful not to tell the kids that SNOW was all the rage. We dropped here and there that it might be "cold enough to snow" but that we'd have "wait and see."

Sure as cotton can be candy, it did not SNOW!

But it was terribly terribly terribly cold for us down here in the humid yucky weather capital of the world. There were no tears over the no SNOW which I was grateful for. SO the plan not to tell them worked.

What we did endure of hours upon hours of news about how roads were closed and the ice everywhere. Seriously you would have thought our world had come to an end.

Well since we didn't have snow to play in....we found other ways to entertain ourselves.

Travis wanted no part of this because his hands might get wet...he's funny about his little hands.
Maybe he'll be a surgeon...aren't they protective of their hands. Well we will wait and see on that one.

So he amused himself by having a swift bike ride which was just fine by me because we were cooped up all day.
So while many were disappointed that no snow came last week. We are now bracing ourselves for possibly another "ice" day. There are already some ice pellets forming on the roof that Campbell and I spied from her windows as we let some light in after a cold afternoon nap. It is currently 27 degrees outside my home in my neighborhood at 5:38pm. I know, I know. Those of you buried in snow or who are use to these chilly cold winter days are laughing.

Which leads me to my segway into the piece of video that was created last week to make fun of us here in this lovely part of the country. Pretty funny!

Keep warm....this clubhouse is hoping to get its final dweller inside sometime after 8pm...hopefully weather won't keep him stranded in the airport in Charlotte.

This is what I learned this morning. Please wrap this father in your prayers because not only did he lose his wife but now his daughter is held by her and Jesus in Heaven. May the Lord hold this man who has lost so much in His arms and help him through.

Chad Cole said goodbye to his newborn daughter last evening as he held her and sang to her. Heart wrenching. My prayers to this grieving husband and father...

I am not a girl mama and not a boy mama. I am 1/2 and 1/2. I have one of each so there are days when it seems all girly and frilly around here and then others that are all cars, trains, trucks and much more. I wouldn't have it any other way. I am really happy to be 1/2 and 1/2!!!

Shoes and my girl

Well my girl is a shoe freak. She loves shoes. She loves to look and feel shoes at stores. She loves pretty shoes, shiny shoes, shoes adorned with bows or flowers or well whatever they could put on a shoe. Yet she is picky. They have to be just to her liking.

Recently a shoe desire has come to her fancy. Oh one that has caused some turmoil. Some tears have flown out of those sweet eyes of hers over these shoes.

Apparently they are quite the must have in the preschool and elementary scene. But the ones that have won her heart are the ones that light up. Not just the sparkly ones, no they won't do. Now there are look a likes and other shoes that light up but they don't even compare. Basically the girl knows what she wants.

So what's all the rage? Oh the rage is about the twinkle toes shoes from skechers. Her friends have them and oh does she want a pair. Its all she talks about when it comes to shoes. She has even gotten crafty at dropping the topic into every day conversation. Oh yes mothers to baby girls....fashion starts young. Maybe it was brought on by me who had to have the cutest baby shoes on her feet. I remember buying her first mary janes, her first keds, her first pedi peds. Oh maybe I have created this shoe diva.

Oh twinkle toes how I wish you would not have entered our world. Oh dear Mr. Creator of Skechers you have gotten under the skin of my sweet girl. That desire of an object of which one must have has possessed her being....way, way to young for this society influence.

Yes we have had a melt down over these shoes almost to the point of pure bare foot rebellion. "I will not go if I have to wear those shoes", those being the ones she once adored. Good grief. But the mommy prevailed. We went to school and we went with those shoes on her feet.

So what is a mommy to do? Give in? Get the shoes? Let the tiny bit of peer influence indeed influence her sweet child?

Well what we decided to do was this. If such sweet girl had a particularly good nap one Saturday afternoon she was to take a trip to the Imagination Toy & Shoe store near by. This place is adored by such a shoe diva as mine. That we would go look at the coveted shoe and see if in fact it was of quality to purchase. Stressing as much as one could to a four year old that we would look and then make a decision. But that a shoe purchase was not guaranteed. A good Saturday afternoon nap was promised by my shoe diva. So I called and made sure they carried twinkle toes. This would have been my virgin voyage into learning about these shoes. Looking back I might have gathered more information before promising such a trip to the beloved shoe store.

Sweet girl awakes from her nap while mommy is at the grocery. The darling father dresses sweet daughter as she is insistent that she will get to go to the shoe store. The mommy busily puts away the groceries while her shoe diva reminds her mommy that she did indeed take a good Saturday afternoon nap. It is apparent to all that going to see the twinkle toe shoes was to be the highlight of this sweet girls day. The mommy reminds daughter that looking at the shoes didn't mean buying the shoes. We climb into the car and off we go on our twinkle toe voyage.

Oh. Oh what a trip it would be. We instantly find the twinkle toes, we have our foot sized and a shiny pair is slipped onto her feet. But let's go back to my virgin voyage and needing more information. Apparently with in minutes sweet girl is lost in her thoughts as tears run down her face. These twinkle toes don't light up and well that simply just wont do. I mention to her that they are twinkle toes and that they are pretty. But the heart of my sweet girl was won over by the twinkling version of the shoes. Yes, the pretty and shiny just would not do.

The nice shoe lady tells us that they do not carry the light up version. She's terribly sorry. The next torment for my sweet girl was that even if they had carried the light up kind that the size that we tried on just did not fit right. Not fit right struck a nerve with my teary eyed sweet girl because now not only did they not light up but she may not get to wear any at all.

Oh this caused alarm even in the nice shoe lady who quickly tried to sway my sweet girl into looking at a alternate pair of light up shoes. Her persuasion was not working at first but than the sweet girl was broken and she gave into the sales lady charm when she somewhat fancied her with a shiny purple version of an off brand. Sadly, the shoe was not a match for the sweet girls feet or her ultimate desire. We left empty handed and I am pretty sure both of us broken hearted. I tried to remind her that we did set out only to look but that did not mend her heart.

So. So now what is a mother to do? Well the promise of looking into where else we might find these shoes came out of my mouth and brought a smile to her sweet girls face. We would search for a twinkle toes retailer that carried the LIGHT up version.

Mommy asked fellow mother at the lovely preschool where she found the beloved light up shoes. Academy. Academy it was then. I would not run all over town to find these shoes...well not at this point. But I would make sure that some how we went to Academy. Academy sporting goods would have the light up twinkle toes who would have thought.

The following Saturday the four of us went for lunch at a local favorite and decided to head down to the pet store for some cheap entertainment. Yes, Petsmart can be like a mini trip to a zoo. But oh, oh what was the matter. Traffic. The traffic on the route was terrible no doubt. We spent 20 minutes moving maybe one mile. As I looked in the distance and listened to my husband grumble over why he choose to go this way and the children laughing at the man twirling a "arrow sign" I spot, I spot the Academy. I mention to my husband to turn up ahead because our daughters thoughts of T-W-I-N-K-L-E T-O-E-S could soon come to life.

With desire to get off the road he turns right, right into academy and I hear a huge squeal, "twinkle toes!" Yes, the girl was ready, ready to get her a pair. I remind her that we are looking but it falls on deaf squeals. With much excitement we head in to the store but sadly we leave once again broken hearted. Yes. Yes they had the light up twinkle toes but not in her size. Her feet are just not meant to wear these shoes. Not yet at least. Apparently, Academy doesn't carry them in the smaller size. The sales guy just smiled at her and said "little girl your foot needs to grow." That. That brought on tears and questions like "why is my foot to small? why don't they carry my size?" Oh only a scoop up and a hug could heal at that moment.

So shoes, you silly twinkle toes shoes. My daughter may like you but as for me. I dislike you. For all your shiny, bright and light up magic you have cast on my sweet girls heart. And until we find you in our size I'll have to hear all about how wonderful you are.

This time last year....

This time last year the kids were "driving" around the world with Nana.

small town

It always seemed like a small town.
Everything was slow and revolved around the University.
Kinda sleepy.
I remember thinking at times I was so ready to leave.
It's one of those towns where you often know the same people most of your life.
Some how you end up knowing someone who knows someone.
Kinda nice. Can be bad to though.
I have lots of memories from this town.

When I left, I didn't feel badly about doing so. I felt so grown up moving less than two hours away to the "BIG" city. It was so fast, fresh and new there. Probably just to me at the time because well it was new to me and everything seemed so fresh because I had never seen it and well....people drove a lot faster. For that I fit right in....I tend to have a led foot.

So pretty much the only time I went back to the small town was for Doctors appointments, rival football games and sorority stuff with the chapter house on the campus there. Pretty soon I felt further and further removed from the small town.

After college I moved several times to different states. Coming back for visits to my parents home who ironically was now and had been for sometime removed from the small town and now in the "BIG" city. I would drift into the small town now only for doctor appointments and one 10 year high school reunion. The small town didn't feel like home, I had left it behind.

A few years back I was able to go visit my parents and we took a road trip to the small town. It felt differently being there with my kids. I felt a bit nostalgic. Thinking that one day it might be nice to live here with them. I found myself thinking that if we could move back to AZ that I would suggest to live here, here in this small town. My small town. I would however raise a nice maroon and gold flag in my yard if I lived in this small town.

I have started to think about what it would be like to live there. I would want my kids to go to the same private schools, especially my high school. What a special place it is. Yes. I would want all that. When it was time for college....well I would hope they would venture north of the small town. Yes. They would need to venture north.

Well those thoughts are just silly fancies that often pass the time. We are not moving anytime soon. Sigh. However, with the birth of Social Media it is nice to feel connect to people you haven't seen in so long. To reconnect, to laugh about old times and learn about new lives. It often brings up my silly fancies. Sigh.

Well this small town and people from it have been brought to mind a lot over the last few days. It has brought tears and words of prayers. I hope you have prayed for this small town too even if you don't know it or the people.

There was tragedy. Stunning tragedy that left people injured and many dead. This tragedy was horrific and led by a mad man. I not for one moment believe it was politically driven. The man. is. CRAZY.

Maybe now you might know of the small town I speak of. The small town.

I have cried for the "old pueblo" and have cried for those I didn't even know. I have cried for those I did know. Friends from high school lost their dad/dad in law in Judge Roll. Such a shame this senseless tragedy is. Sad. Sad. So very sad.

So lately this small town has been on my mind.

We have been on break from class for the holidays and tomorrow we get to go back. This little dancer is so pumped up. Infact she'll get to use one of her Santa gifts that she was thrilled to get.

So as we plie, tap and twirl into the first month of 2011, we wish you great cheer!

As 2010 comes to an end, there is so much to be thankful for.

My husband taking a great new job with a previous employer.

Almost finishing seven years of marriage...I can't believe we will hit the 8 year mark soon.

Our children who delight our world. It is often the laughter and the wonder that gets us through on some days.

Our families that add that extra special something just when you need it. We thank you!

Our health...even though we had a HUGE scare tonight with a crash of a window pane and some blood. No trip to the ER needed but hopefully some little children learned running in the house is a NO! NO! Praises Campbell only got a few cuts and scrapes.

That recovery has continued to go well for me from my 2009-2010 surgeries. I really am very thankful for those that cared & prayed for me.

For the education my children are getting from the preschool they adore.

For a house to call home and friends to call dear.

2010 has not been the easiest of years and while it is minutes from being over here in Texas. It is still a year filled with memories of hopes and dreams.

May God bless you as you end 2010 and find yourself walking with Him in 2011!

Seriously I might be addicted as I look for them each night. I have gotten Campbell some amazingly cute things here. And well since most of her items come with personalization I am just one happy mommy. After all you all know how much I LOVE monograms.

There are some great things here for boys and if Travis wasn't already potty trained I would be buying me some longalls for him....but when you have to be quick on the draw with a boy, these outfits don't seem to work out as well as they use to when he was a bitty boy in his cloth covered bum.

It's hard not to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Not to get carried away with all the gatherings, must have photo opportunities, gift buying and Santa this & Santa that. I know. Why...because I am guilty of it. I admit it. I have two little ones and while we talk of Jesus and his coming, it is VERY easy to get caught up in the Santa excitement. After all they are only little and BELIEVE in that for so long. My hope is that they will NEVER forget to BELIEVE in the real reason for the season. My goal is to enable them to know the beauty of this little life that grew to a man that died for them. For me. For you. For that stranger neither of us knows.

I came across this song while visiting my friend Esther's blog. I was busy wrapping gifts and humming "here comes Santa Claus" when I felt like I needed a break. I didn't go straight to bloggy world. I OF COURSE went to Facebook world and saw her update on her nativity days. I clicked on over and while reading her sweet post music was playing. I left a comment and still music played. I enjoyed the music so I went back to wrapping and throwing away my scraps of paper when a certain song came on. I don't believe I had ever heard it before so it made me stop. Then. Then it made me cry.

Happy Third Birthday Travis!

I am swept away at how fast time has flown. I mean really. Really it's been three years since you made your wonderful entrance to the world.

Three wonderful years we have been blessed to have you. To love you. To Cherish you. To be servants to your every need and whim. To teach you. To sometimes send you to the naughty chair. To play with you. To learn YOU. To watch you. To snuggle with you. To comfort you. And again To Love you more than you might know.

Right now I am guessing you are about 30lbs and average height....your well check will be soon. Lucky for you....NO shots at three. Yahoo!

You love breakfast bars, Thomas, Hot Wheels, swinging, riding your tricycle, running, Cars (you adore Daddy's version of Mater). You love sissy, peanut butter, your blankies, Papa, holding my hand. You now really really enjoy daddy and me time. You love going to the park and going to school. You love to sit on Nana's lap and read. You love to ride with mommy on the back of her green bike.

What you don't love is getting your hands sticky, paint or the likes on them to boot. Now you don't mind playing in dirt but to make mommy and hand print turkey would have just about sent you to the loony house. You are not a fan of green beans, mustard and just about any food that might get you sticky. You absolutely do not like to spill. I'd say you are a bit of a perfectionist.

One of the best parts of you is that you are sensitive. You like to use manners and are very affectionate. I have noticed that on days when you might have had a busy day at school or if mommy was busy busy with an activity that you will call out more for me at night than the usual "i gotta go potty" call every night. But you know what....I love it. Your sweet voice saying "mommy, I need you...." just about melts my heart.

I am really looking forward to this year and seeing just who you become and what you learn this year. I know you will always do your best and try, try, try.....even when it gets "too hard." Which is something I hope you will always do.

Travis, we love you and so happy that God "picked" us to hold you dear little brother bear.

So every year the kids school holds a Thanksgiving feast. Last year I was in the hospital recovering from a BIG surgery so I missed it. This year however, feeling GREAT and with two in school. This mommy got double the feast days. One right after the other. I LOVED it!

Who's this turkey??? Ha! Ha! This was a turkey that each child at Campbell's class got to take home....Ours is still on the mantel....we call him Fred.

Travis had his feast on Thursday and it was really exciting to see all the wee little ones.

I think he really was very thankful for his "something or other" free cupcake as someone in his class is sadly allergic to everything.

Campbell had her feast on Friday before the Thanksgiving break and the "big" kids got to sing and preform. It was so fun to see her sing...she loves too.

Sometimes my son wakes me in the midst of a dream.
Sometimes my son wakes me minutes after falling into that very state of sleep that you say "man, I just feel asleep."
Sometimes my son wakes me, rather gets me up out of bed before I can even get completely settled in.
Sometimes my son sleeps without waking me but more times than not I am awoken.

You see just about every night my son wakes me just to go pee pee.

While I am grateful for no wet sheets.....sometimes, No every time their is a bit of rough crying because he has been woken from a deep sleep. With an urgency....an urgency to pee. What he can't understand in his often hysterical screams is that I am there. Helping him. Tending to him. Awake...just for him.

Sometimes. No, every time. As tiresome as it has grown. I am grateful for that waking. You see sometimes it reminds me that he won't always need me. That there might be a time when I don't hear his screams. I won't be there to help him, tend to him, be awake just for him. On a night just like tonight, when sometimes, I can't fall right back to sleep. I think about those times and am happy to have been awoken.

The Lion and the Mermaid!

So for Halloween this year the kids were The Lion and the Mermaid.

However, my little Lion did NOT like having whiskers on his face...it was a struggle to get them on as you can see from the markings of these imperfect whiskers.

He was heard roaring about these whiskers for at least three houses
into the trick or treating experience.

They had a lot of fun and we went to a lot more houses than I expected.
ESPECIALLY seeing that Campbell was just getting over being sick and Travis too.

Nana was in town and she loved seeing them all dressed up

and shouting "trick or treat", "happy Halloween" "spooky!" and "thank you" to people along our journey to candy filled pumpkins.

We hope your candy filled holiday was enjoyable and that you got the one treat you were hoping for. Ours was Lollipops....they were SO excited when they got a lollipop in their buckets.
Yep, pretty simple but apparently lollipops rule!!

It was a hot one!

So going to the pumpkin patch is just wrong in the heat!
There is NOTHING fall time about it.

UGH! Last year it was cool, crisp and oh so fall like. See here is proof....

This year.....hot! Did not make for good smiles during picture time.

However, we did endure the heat and found a great pumpkin.
We had laughs and high fives as we won racing ducks in the duck race.....shh! everyone wins.
Riding the train was a high point again this year. Travis did question why the train wasn't on the track which was pretty observant for a 2.75 year old....well maybe not for this one that is
TRAIN CRAZY!
The train is actually a make shift train on some four wheeler wheels.
Thinking next year the hay ride will be the winner as he may have figured out that it really is a "pretend" train.

Campbell of course made it to the top of a pumpkin pile with ease. Coming down was a bit harder but she enjoyed scaling the mountain o' pumpkin.

Both enjoyed the jumpy house with slides and meeting some goats.

Even in the heat we did enjoy our time at the pumpkin patch.
Our ending highlight was enjoying Kool Aid and Popcorn.

So a few weeks ago Travis was running in the house. I was not present when he fell. I was...uh....well....I was....taking a "potty break".

He had run into the bathroom and was laughing and so happy. I asked him kindly and sternly "please do not run in the house." With his boyish charm ran out the door, laughing and saying "I'm having fun!"

All of a sudden I hear him screaming! wait make that...SCREAMING!
Being in this particular "break room" takes a few minutes to leave. Um....I think...you all understand.

So I get to him and he is bleeding from the mouth. My heart starts to race. I start to panic. Thinking he is now missing teeth. I take a deep breath and let my urge to cry and get hysterical because my child is bleeding leave my body.

I open his mouth and see ALL teeth in place and none broken. (let's back up....I assure you this....there was hand washing in place.) I feel his teeth and none seem lose.

I ask him to calm down and tell me what happened. He cries, screams and cries more. We hug. I then repeat. "calm down and tell mama." He says "I fell down. I was running. I was having fun." then starts to cry/scream all over again. We hug some more. I ask him to show me where he fell. He shows me the window. The window molding. Apparently he fell into the window molding that frames the window. OH NO! I shudder. I can only imagine that he broke some of his fall with his hands because NO teeth were missing.

We end up with a very fat lip and a sore mouth. I think about calling the doctor or dentist but decide since NO teeth were broken/missing/chipped not too.

OH NO! maybe I should have called......yesterday in his sick state(we (mama, him and sissy) all have bronchitis) of coughing and me blowing his nose I noticed that his front teeth seemed discolored. I thought maybe it was just my eyes. I look again. I think maybe it's from lunch I didn't brush his teeth after. Then later I look again.....they are NOT white. OH NO!

Today I looked and they are a little on the gray side and seem to be the same color on the inside.
I think from the trauma of the fall. Now we have to go to see the dentist. I pray that this has not affected his permanent teeth up above these precious baby ones.

OH NO!!!! Today I suffer from "potty break" guilt.

This fun little school that my kids attend have a super fun fundraiser called a FUN RUN!
They set the foyer up with cones and track ribbons. Play really load music and run, run, run!

The Start of a New Decade.

Today I woke and I was 40!
Wow!
I am FORTY!

I guess it's time to be all grown up and stuff.

Well the one thing I am looking forward to is a clean slate. New things to experience. New memories to create. A new leash on life.
It seems that in my last ten years I experienced what most people deal with over the course of a lifetime.

Let's recap....or maybe we wont. But trust me there was some....crap.

HOWEVER the years weren't all bad. 2003, 2006 and 2007 were GREAT years! Ones I would never trade!

Today though...was a sweet day. A great start!
I got a ton of birthday wishes. Cards, phone calls, yard decor, social media shout outs and hugs & kisses galore. Plus I got some great gifts. Thank you, Thank you!

I did want to share two of my favorite cards. My two little people were SO excited to give me these this morning. They actually walked around with them today and watched a show holding them. Asking me over and over if I loved my cards. I did. I do. But what I love most is the two of you.

Never forget

While it seems as if I have been "forgetting" to post that isn't quite the case. Just a bit caught up in all that is going on these days and the stresses of life. However, stay tuned for a BIG update. In the meantime I have been stricken by grief today. This day is just so, so sad. There have been some major events that have happened in my life time. The Iran hostage Crisis being the first that I can recall, Yellow ribbons every where. Not to long after I remember fifth grade math class being interrupted when President Reagan was shot. TV's were rolled into every classroom. I remember the weeping as word spread that Pope John Paul II had been shot. Late that same summer I watched Diana become a princess when she married Prince Charles during a summer road trip to the Grand Canyon. Several years later I stood in prayer in my high school's freshman patio after the space shuttle challenger disaster after only 73 seconds post take off. I remember our country going to war (Gulf) and seeing it unravel on TV in the chapter room of my sorority floor and rushing to call my dad on the chapter phone to make sure he wouldn't be called out for duty as he was in the Army. I can recall when the beautiful Princess Diana was taken from this world. Watching endless hours of footage on the news with my fellow flight attendant crash pad roommates in San Francisco. Then thinking I had seen almost every thing that could happen. You know those "events" that you will always be able to recall what you were doing and who you were with. September 11, 2001 happened. That day will be one that I will never forget. I wasn't connected to it other than I am an AMERICAN. It however, to this days cripples my heart. I just feel so numb and full of pain, even now. I watched a video clip of it and it was like I was seeing it all for the first time. Maybe this day will be like this because of the technology we had then. Think of how we could hear the calls, see the planes, hear the panic. Oh it just, it just is so powerful in how it came to over come my mind and heart. I will never forget.

And while my sweet children will only learn of this day & I pray they will never have to see such a sight in their lifetimes I do hope that they as Americans will feel loyal and love for their country. With the start of school and my daughters love of music it was nice to hear her sharing songs that she is learning. One struck a cord with me. It made me feel so proud that my sweet girl is learning such things. You see one night she broke out in song on our bike ride. She hadn't learned the whole song yet but we knew what she was trying to sing. Well it made me cry right there on the spot. Well now just a few weeks into school she can sing the entire song and she LOVES to sing it every chance she can. So in honor of today and all the lives that were forever changed and lost I pay tribute to 9/11 with the voice of my sweet girl. I hope you enjoy and never forget. The video is under my signature.

So most of you know that we are out of diapers now. Also most of you know I was a cloth diapering mommy and very proud to share any cloth diapering knowledge. My motto has always been I don't wear paper pants why should my baby.

So while I don't have a baby bum under 2 to diaper any more (two is when we potty train...start the get to know the potty chair around 18 months) I do love to keep up with all the new styles and brands in cloth diaper world. Who knows if and when we might get blessed again. But you can bet a sweet baby bottom that I'll be cloth diapering again.

Now while cloth is for me and I just don't see why everyone wouldn't at least try it. I don't tisk tisk any one who chooses to well..... paper pant their baby. I just want to make that clear. THERE IS NO TISK TISKING HERE!!

However, I must. I must share this adorable video with you that just came out. The beat has made me dance all morning. The kids laughed and tried to dance with her. So which ever way you diaper I at least hope you will tap your feet to this cute little ditty.

Today our sweet girl turned four. Oh the growing she has done this year. She is so far removed from the baby years, so not a toddler and well preschooler just doesn't seem to fit either. She's a little girl. Just really into dressing up, playing mommy, being a friend, learning, coloring and making things for others. She's curious and full of desire to...LIVE.

You are a friend to your brother and a great mommy to your dolls and animals.

Last day being Three!

So today was Campbell's last day being three. When she wakes up in the morning she will be a big F-O-U-R year old!!! I can hardly believe it. Well this is her today doing some "cutting" with her scissors. Something she has mastered during year three. I loved this year bunny boo! XO, mama bunny.

So I am going to show you how to cut.

I have been a sort of blogging break but I am pretty sure I am back.
I have been busy. Busy recovering. Trying to stay hydrated in the summer time. Chasing around my little ones and loving every minute of it. Missing my hubby when he's gone as his job has him traveling quite a bit. I must say that most of my blogging break came from a bit of depression. I had my mom here for six months. She was here while I had my surgeries and basically took care of our family. I miss her so very much. My little ones were really sad to see her go. In fact Travis was heard on the potty saying "my nana left me, my nana left me." He than went back to reading his Thomas book...guess he just needed to get that off his chest. Poor little guy! He sure loves his Nana! Campbell keeps asking when she will come back or when we can go to Arizona. I think having my mom here was a huge impact on their little lives. I love you mom! I love you dad who really lived with out my mom for 6 months. He hasn't had to do that since he was deployed years and years ago. What a trooper.

Well I look forward to getting back to sharing all about the in's and out's of the clubhouse.

Ballet and Tap....Tap won her heart

So this past year we got to add Tap to Campbell's dance schedule. I remember when we began dance class. She loved being a ballerina! It was ballet this and that. Well fast forward a year and we introduce Tap class. WHOA! Hold the phone folks because well shoes that make noise stole the heart of my three year old this year!!!

The class is a combo class and well let's just say that most days during the Ballet portion, mind you a year earlier she loved, looked like the bored child out in right field. However, the moment she and the others were released to put on the fancy black and shiny tap shoes it was like she hit the mother load!!!

Recently we had the dance school recital. She was a mermaid for ballet and a candy girl for tap. She almost didn't recognize her classmates because well....I was the only mommy that didn't do the whole make up routine. I let her wear some lipstick but that was it. She's cute enough without it and she's three! She kept telling me she didn't know those girls. That she wanted to find her friends. Finally she warmed up to their faces. However, the make up is now the big talk at our house. I had noticed it prior when she would watch me get it together some mornings but now...she talks about putting on her make up all the time. Guess that's pretty normal girly stuff but makes my heart scream...you're a baby...stay that way.

After recital we had a week off and decided to do summer dance class where guess what was introduced....Jazz.....Now she really still favors Tap but let me tell you she sure is learning a new way to express herself. But what she is REALLY jazzed up about is in the fall she will be taking a baton class. yes, she wants to take baton. I honestly can't wait to see that!!

Helper

Lance decided he had enough of our UGLY fire place with it's gold fireplace framed doors. So he ripped it and mantel down. He cleaned it up and we picked a paint color. Lance than began the tape off process when low and behold he gained a helper. NOT ME. A little blue eyed, Blondie, curly haired little helper. This is a picture of the work in progress.

When the inside of fire place is finished with decorating touches I'll post the finished picture. The color is great and came out so well. Smelly though is the paint that goes inside the actual fireplace. HIGH heat style paint with no odor blocker. UGH. This mommy was stressed out even though that part was done at night after they were already upstairs in bed. My job as a mom is stressful as I am sure it is for most moms. But well that's a whole other post on things that stress me out while trying to raise children.

Pups. Sandi (red golden) will be gone two years come August. Diego (my big blonde boy), two years come November. And Barley (white wheaten), well she's been gone just about a month now. I am starting to get the puppy itch. I really have a other itch but that's on hold for now.
So for now, I long for a pup. I am missing me some puppy love.

God is a girl

So tonight while brushing teeth Campbell asks me if God is a girl. I simply answer I don't think so.
She quickly tells me "yes. God is a girl! She is POWERrrrrFUL!"

Well, I thought maybe I can't argue that logic right now. God is pretty powerful and if just for a while she wants to believe God is a girl than well let her have it. She's labeling all things "girls" and thinks girls have a lot of power. Growing self esteem at three and a half....who I am I to knock it.

So for now if you need a boost in your Girl Power...just close your eyes and imagine God as a Girl.

Travis loves to color or use sidewalk chalk. He loves to mix colors and color, color the whole page. I thought Campbell was artistic but than Travis discovered color and oh away he went. Here is him working hard on the deck. Enjoy it now for free....one day it might be worth a pretty penny.
