Warms my heart

So we listen to a lot of music. It seems like it is often in the background of everything we do. It is sometimes fun preschool party music, sometimes we enjoy some classical or jazz, other times it is a bit of old school mommy and daddy music and there is always the Sunday school favorite Cd's as well. Well it warmed my heart to hear my daughter singing in the play room the other day. She didn't know all the words but knew some very important ones. She also had the tune and was humming a bit. I will have to get her on video but when she sees the camera he normally will shy away from singing on cue. But she was singing the song; B-I-B-L-E, that's the book for me.
she was working in her little kitchen just singing away "B-I-B-L-E, that's the book for me, I stand alone on the word of God, the b-i-b-l-e." It was so darn sweet.
I have to credit the Go Fish Guys for her love of this song because they are a real fun group to sing and dance too. They don't have a clip of this song so I am going to post another clip. It's a great song and one that I think most of you will enjoy....especially you mommies on a Friday night. Enjoy the weekend!

News....

***Update y'all have been waiting for.....the big news, the good news is.....

Travis can WALK!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like a terrible mommy because I haven't posted this major milestone.
Not to mention that he took off back in late January when he was 13.5 months
and well now he is almost 15 months old.
SO, I, for him of course and a little bit for me had to give it (walking) a BIG reveal!

Now, for those of you who are now completely disappointed (some of you already even knew this/seen him in action) with this big update/news in our lives
(because I know what each and everyone of you were thinking.....)
just take a view of the two videos of his early walking and it will make up for it.
He is so darn cute, you can't help but be pleased for him and his news!
By the way he takes home the "walking" award in our home
because he beat his sister by 3 months.
Way to go Brother Bear!*****

I have some news to share....good news! But you will have to wait til later today, probably after babies are in bed to find out......STAY TUNED!!!!!

Michelle's Fan Club

So my neighbor Michelle, who I shall give credit to for informing me of this wonderful world of blogging sang at her church today. We told her that we would go to show our support and show the world(OK, maybe not the world...but you get the picture) her small fan club. She sang a beautiful song called Desert Song and you can read more about this song on her site by clicking here.
Michelle and her family go to a very different church than what I have grown up with. It is a totally different experience. Not that one is better than the other. Just different. I like to think of myself as open minded to a lot of different things in life and well going to another church every once in a while is kinda refreshing. The important thing is to remember that we all serve God and though the message might be delivered a little different than what you are accustomed too it really doesn't matter because in the end....it's just God talking to you. So with that said, I may have found my "cheater church." You know for those Sundays when you might just need to stir things up or in my case running late. You see Michelle's church is five minutes away and mine is a 30 minute drive. You tack on checking on kids in nursery and well let's just say if I am running behind on a Sunday, God just might have to talk to me differently that day.

So with out further ado....Here is Michelle singing the Desert Song (she is the one in all black with short blonde hair.) I apologize for the shaky hand.
Enjoy.

Food for thought.

I saw this article and it got me thinking. It got me thinking of all the times I have been questioned "why" I don't get to the phone when it rings or "why" I haven't sent an email lately or heaven forbid updated my blog. So after reading it I thought I would give it a "post" and ask you out there in bloggy world about your life and thoughts on this topic.

Double click on the image and you will be able to read this better.

round one for the toddler

Today was a tough day. Campbell is 2.5 years old and is so smart that it seems as if I cant pull anything past her. It is also getting hard to deal with her discipline wise. I think I am at my witts end. I have tried time out (naughty spot), I have tried speaking with her in short toddler phrases, I have tried the not so popular "spank", I have tried diverting her attention and nothing...I have no results. She is a very good girl but you know the saying...."when they are bad, they are very, very bad." Well that's my daughter for you. She has been overly rough with her baby brother, whacked her friend Keegan on the head yesterday at the park and has not been "listening with her ears, using her mind and opening her heart" when mommy speaks to her.
Daddy is traveling a lot lately for work which is a good thing and not unusual because he traveled when she was younger but lately she is very talkative about these "trips." We felt that since she was older we would explain to her that daddy goes on work "trips" sometimes by car and sometimes by airplane and that he will be back soon and that he loves us very much. She talks about these "trips" so much to the point of booking his next travel itinerary.
So I am not sure, maybe she is acting out because of all of this recent travel and now that she is older, her little mind going a million miles an hour it is just too much.
I just know that today was tough. I had enough of her being mean to brother bear and I couldn't figure out a way to make her understand that she cant behave that way. Basically bedtime couldn't come fast enough today.
My heart is heavy because I feel like I don't know what to do to make an impact on her in a positive, disciplinary way. I guess I will have to look for answers in books, read advice from friends (bloggy ones included) and pray. I think I have to pray!!!!
